Grow a Lot Of Food in a Small Space! 2 DIY Hydroponic Systems You Have To See…

Check out these two ingenious hydroponic systems that allow you to grow a lot of food in a very small space…

Building a vertical Hydroponic garden allows you to grow a lot of food using only a fraction of the space a traditional garden uses.  Here are 2 cleaver setups.

1. The DIY Hydroponic Garden Tower…

This system grows over 100 plants in less than 10 square feet, by taking advantage of vertical growth space.  Everyhing you need to make this system can be found at your local hardware and hydroponics stores. The tubing is made with 4″ irrigation pipes.

This system uses 80% less water than square foot gardening and you can harvest your crops while standing. No need to break your back bending down to garden. 🙂

Check it out here…

2. The DIY Vertical (A-Frame) Hydroponic System…

This beautifully constructed hydroponic system also takes very little space (6′ x 10′) and produces a huge number of plants (168). This setup also uses PVC piping and with the way the A-Frame is built it can be easily moved.

Check out this well constructed and thought out system here…

A Little About Hydroponics

Cultivating plants in water has been around for hundreds of years ever since Francis Bacon in 1627 referred to it in his book “Sylva Sylvarum”.  However the term Hydroponics only came about in the 20th century when William Frederick Gericke of the University of California at Berkeley created a sensation by growing tomato vines twenty-five feet high in his back yard in mineral nutrient solutions rather than soil.

Today we have a vast amount of knowledge and experience we can draw from to create our own hydroponic environments to grow huge amounts of plants in this very clever and water efficient way.
